$1.6+M grant secured for the Bowen Seagulls

Momentum was engaged by Queensland Rugby League on short notice in late 2023 to coordinate a funding submission (RCIF Program- Round 3) for the upgrade of the rugby league grounds (Denison Park) in Bowen. Over the course of a week we worked with various stakeholders to bring this submission together with Whitsunday Regional Council ultimately becoming the applicant in partnership with the Bowen Seagulls Junior Rugby League Club and the QRL.

All parties were ecstatic when it was announced that $1,602,960 had been approved to support the extension and renovation of the existing amenities at Denison Park, Bowen with key outputs being:

• 2 unisex changerooms.
• Toilet facilities for male, female and people with disabilities.
• Gym.
• Store.
• Tiered, covered grandstand seating.

Delivery of this project will increase the capacity of the club to provide and expand services including:

•  Rugby League training and fixtures (junior, senior, male and female)
• Programs (e.g. development initiatives and Gala Days).
• All Abilities Program (proposed but not possible at present).
• Various community events.
